1. A great 2012 start
A wonderful start to the new year... Kim39, my Scrabble puzzle calendar, orange juice and champagne.
My calendar offered some nice, basic trivia... The Scrabble board has 225 squares (15x15) and 100 tiles to be played.
And my favorite bingo completing the puzzles so far is "purulent".
purulent - consisting of, containing, or discharging pusThis QOTD was uttered shortly after my purulent coup.
QOTD
"Dude. We are getting smarter. A LOT smarter."
- williamt, an enthusiastic celebration of my Scrabble calendar puzzle and a (few) mimosa(s)
2. Infatuation, actually
Movie: Love, Actually
Review: 3 bill-stars (out of 5)
Love, Actually (LA) is a girlie movie with enough light laughter to barely nudge over the 3 bill-star threshold.
Lord help me for over-analyzing this tripe, but...
- All the "love" was actually (ha, get it?) infatuation... or merely physical attraction.
- There were consistent themes of a) infidelity, b) hot young chicks running around all over the place, and c) old men chasing young girls (and vise versa) in the movie. You'd think this would turn women away from the movie, but I presume that the over-the-top romantic stuff won out.
3. Productivity
Writing prose is pretty similar to writing code, I reckon. Here's an interesting productivity notion:I wrote without interruptions for three 90 minute periods, and took a break between each one. I had breakfast after the first session, went for a run after the second, and had lunch after the third. I wrote no more than 4 1/2 hours a day

Especially interesting given my gammy thyroid.
