Photo0007

This is an oldie. Flip phone pic. Minimalist. Very special. Crappy. (dramatic pause) Art shot!

"Photo0007"

Here's a super-smart guy arguing that we shouldn't feed dogs meat.
It's global warming, ya know. Oh yeah, and it's... Science!
Save the planet! (snort)

A dog doesn't need to eat steak.

Union Station

Book: Date Night on Union Station by E.M. Foner
Review: 3 bill-stars (out of 5)... fun
Goodreads: www.goodreads.com/review/show/2068406063

This is a fun sci-fi serial, like a soap opera, I guess. It's an indie book (which I like) and is super light reading.

QOTD
Uniquely among the biologicals, large numbers of humans either don't know what they want, or they lie to themselves about what they do want. It's why your immersives and literature do so poorly in translation. To use your own words, the rest of the galaxy just doesn't 'get' humans. Your development as a species depends on natural selection, yet your mating selections are most unnatural.
- Union Station by E.M. Foner
The two main characters are setup on a number of dates by an internet dating service run by the AI's that also run the space station. So, the setup is a cross of the awkwardness of a first internet meetup combined with aliens and tech and space stations and what not. It's fun. For example, the girl's landlord is an AI... read on.

QOTD2
She held up her hands with fingers crossed. "How much can I expect next payday? I'm behind on the rent again, and the smart aleck landlord program has been fooling with the water temperature when I take a shower. It's just a matter of time before it starts in with varying the room temperature and piping in nasty odors."

A good read.

Dodger50

The LA Dodger just went 43-7 over a 50 game span. That's the best ever. Hey now!

LA QOTD
The Dodgers tied the best 50-game stretch (43-7) of any team since the 1912 New York Giants
- Dodger win, si post
Of course, the Dodger are led by uber-rook Cody B. He also leads the Naperville Roses. Cody B is cruising right now at 32 dinger. Oh my!

Cody Bellinger. (smile) My favorite player all-time is still Don Kessinger. (I should write a poem) Well, I was a leftie, so I couldn't get a Don Kessinger mitt. But I made my Dad get one. For real. Just like this one (on ebay), I think.

I guess there's a bunch of records the 2017 Dodger are racking up. So, stay tuned. (stay tuned to hot chicks on Star Trek (below))

A warm ending

There's some great rightie stuff here: www.aei.org/publication/thursday-evening-links-16/

Like this table. 8 years of Obama-bashing, sometimes you forget America's position in the world. And look at the tech company domination!

Finally... a warm ending.

QOTD
It’s now been more than 5,000 days (13.75 years) since Hurricane Wilma (October 16-27, 2005), the last major hurricane (category 3, 4 or 5) that made landfall in the US. That marks the longest “hurricane drought” since the mid-1800s.
www.aei.org/publication/thursday-evening-links-16/
Tornadoes aren't increasing either: "...there has been little trend in the frequency of the stronger tornadoes over the past 55 years." (weather nabob link)

Global warming. Extreme weather. Oops.
I guess we can feed our dogs steak if we want to, eh.
cha... yow, bill
